GPS Map Free Review. Accurate Places, Maps & Routes in One App

Search and browse places, calculate distances and get directions conveniently on your Google Android.

The UI of the Android app incorporates satellite imagery, DEM models from Google Maps and a variety of menus for accessing various options. The design is interactive too, and users can enter information such as addresses, cities and towns. On the satellite image, you can view the distance between your location and an address you enter denoted by a thick blue line.

The interface is quite simple and easy to navigate, although it slightly lacks in creativity. Interface score: 6/10.

Key Features

The Google play app for map navigation is a useful tool, especially if you are a frequent traveler or if you are planning a road trip or excursion. You can check the exact coordinates of locations and check accurate distances between various points.

You can’t get lost with this app. Get directions on the go, find locations with satellite and DEM images and optimize travel time by finding the most efficient routes. The app lets you zoom in on areas and find places of interest such as airports, parks, restaurants, schools and anything else that may be of interest to you. In fact, you can choose a radius to find things within. For example, you can close in on places within a 1-mile radius.

The app will let you see how much time you’d spend to get to specific points using various means such as a bicycle, car or jogging.

This is a handy app, although I found it very similar to Google Maps. It would be a leading maps app, except there isn’t a version available for iOS. This is an app for all Android devices running Android 4.0 or higher. The APK is free to download, and there are no in-app purchases. Features score: 6/10.

The app is quite intuitive and easy to use, and anyone will quickly get used to the features. The app connects quite swiftly to the Internet, and I haven’t experienced any crashes with this app so far. While it slows down sometimes, the frequent updates have kept the app fairly stable. Also, you won’t be able to download maps with this app.

The app is reliable and is even better with the latest version. The connectivity to the servers is seamless, and in my experience, the maps were up to date with the locations in real life. 8/10.

Bottom Line

I’d definitely recommend this app to anyone with an Android mobile device. There isn’t much difference between this app and Google Maps, and in fact, GPS Maps Free draws its functionalities from Google. But overall you will have a richer experience with this app. The app isn’t available for iOS though, so not everyone will enjoy it.
