RBC Mobile Review. Banking In The Palm Of Your Hand

From your everyday banking needs to redeeming the bank’s reward points, this banking tool comes out as one of the most reliable ones. Here’s a full review.

Interface

The Royal Bank of Canada has refreshed their App Store and Google Play app and now offer a design that is both simple and straightforward. This modern design separates the unified banking tool into two functionalities; one for wallet-related activities and payment, and the other for core mobile banking. The user interface is also entirely easy to understand, and it won’t take long before you transact using the app like a pro. The design and user interface deserve a straight 10/10.

Key Features

With this app for Android devices and iOS gadgets, you can rest assured that you are protected from any form of unauthorized transactions. This is made possible with the app’s Online Security Guarantee. You can also check your balances, make payments by merely taping your mobile device, and redeem the accumulated RBC Reward points.

By choosing to install this app, you’ll have to consent to any future upgrades or updates released. You can withdraw the consent only by uninstalling it from your device. Notably, the latest version comes with a couple of bug fixes and tweaks that make the app operate more seamlessly. Additionally, there are no in-app purchases offered.

On cross-platform use, the app is compatible with both Android and iOS. The Android app requires version 5.0 and over, while the latter works with gadgets beyond iOS 9.0 and supports iPod touch, iPhone, and iPad. RBC Mobile gets a score of 10/10 for its features.

Usability

This app is quite friendly and easy to use, attributes that are further enhanced by the convenient interface. The numerous financial information offered also comes in handy. Notably, I've never experienced any crashes ever since I've installed the app. However, sometimes the app fails to accept my fingerprints and gives the same standard response that they’re experiencing technical difficulties. Fortunately, I can optionally choose to type my password, and it’s fine by me. I would rate the app’s convenience and performance a 10/10.

Bottom Line

I find the app to be a quite intuitive, slick, fast and efficient tool for managing my daily banking activities. However, mobile banking is about convenience, and the set of drawbacks can be quite discouraging. Fortunately, they can all be addressed with the regular updates made by the developers.
