With Scanlife, I can scan the QR codes of different products and learn more about the client reviews and prices. Here’s a full review of the app.

Interface

I can best describe the design of the Google Android and iOS app as simple. The familiar interface is also quite straightforward, and you can swiftly scan the barcode of a particular product minutes after installing the app. What’s more, the app has an easily accessible Feed section from where you can view what other users are scanning. The design and user interface deserves a 10/10.

Key Features

The app makes it easy to scan UPC barcodes of different products to determine and compare their prices in my favorite stores (such as Best Buy, Amazon, Target, or Macy’s) and make purchases right from the mobile device. I can also save scanning activity across multiple devices and sync with Facebook if I want to share my favorite products with friends or for later access. It’s also possible to create my personalized QR code with the app, and others can use it to save my contact details. The fact that I get information on location-based price rates, deals, and special offers is also a plus.

The latest version comes with performance enhancements and bug fixes. For instance, the bug that is related to the decoding of EZcode barcode has been resolved with the update. You can also enjoy an exceptional user experience by acquiring the in-app purchases which go for $0.99. They include the Fun Scanner, Nature Scanner, and Sports Scanner.

ScanLife comes for both - Android and iOS. The iOS version works with iOS 8.0 and above, while the Android app works with Android version 4.0.3 and over. So whether you have an iPhone, iPod touch, iPad or Android mobile, you can be sure of the same user experience. I give its features and functionality a 10/10.

Usability

This app has scanning features that I find to be incredibly easy to use.  The personalized messages containing the latest offers and deals also add to the user experience. However, the app needs some work as I’ve experienced lags on various occasions, and it once crashed on me. Regardless, the interface is still convenient, and the functionality is smooth. This section scores a 10/10.

The Verdict

Other than just being a simple barcode and QR code scanner, this leading scanning tool has a host of great features. Despite the arguably significant setbacks, I still think it’s a fantastic way of accessing special offers in general. I like the app and would definitely recommend that you take it for a spin if you need novel methods of saving your dollars.
