The Home Depot Review. Shop Smarter and Faster!

Do your equipment shopping remotely and also experience savings with free shipping on hundreds of thousands of selected items.

With this in mind, both the iOS and Android app spot a minimalist interface where you will get options such as Stores, Purchase History, Quick Order, your Pro Xtra account and your Lists. You can browse through the entire catalog and also fill your virtual shopping cart. If you have a specific model in mind, enter the model name or serial through the keyboard input, or use the speech functionality right next to the search tab. With the Redesigned Products page on the latest version, check out better visuals and reviews for your favorite products, and also see updated delivery options. The score of the interface is 9/10.

Key Features

This app works great for all the Home Depot customers and relatively new buyers who don’t know much about Home Depot’s catalog. It is even handier for contractors and builders who need to make quick purchases and plan out their inventory without having to visit an actual Home Depot outlet.

Once you have your lists, you can check the prices and pick them up from the nearest Home Depot store. The app offers a plan view layout of the designated store and where the selected item is located. You can also search products by scanning through a barcode. On the app, see customer reviews on various commodities and also see detailed specifications for whatever you want to purchase. Moreover, you may also use the Augmented Reality (AR) update to see how a product would look in your home.

The Home Depot app is compatible with Android 4.4 or higher. Thus this is an app for all Android devices. The App store version requires iOS 9.0 or later, compatible with iPhone, iPad or iPod touch. The app is free on Google Play and App Store and no in-app purchases are offered. 10/10.

The app works just fine on any iOS or Google Android device, and so far I haven’t experienced any crashes on this app other than one or two abrupt closures. All the features work perfectly except the fact that sometimes, item info won’t pull. Some customers have complained that what they ordered for wasn’t what was delivered.

While this is not a transactions app as such, it still offers you relatively trustworthy security with its account login. So far, I haven’t had any complaints about the privacy or security features of neither iOS nor Android mobile apps. 8/10.

Bottom Line

While the Home Depot app has its own few problems, it still is one of the leading and retail tools in my books. Some of the features could use updating, but overall it has great functionality and is quite useful. I like the app because it gives you a fairly accurate picture of the entire Home Depot catalog and what to expect when you go shopping there. I’d recommend this app.
