Facebook Gets Portable With Photobucket and Google Calendar

  • Greg Burn

Recently Facebook has announced two new options for moving data from social media apps. Users will be able to easily transfer event listings to the Google Calendar and move pictures to Photobucket. They shared the news with the audience on their blog.

Hadi Michel, the Product Manager of Facebook, says that the original tool was significantly rebuilt and improved. Now it is more user-friendly and simple to use. According to the manager, people will appreciate the ability to see what and where they share. Apart from that, users are able to start numerous transfers. Facebook offers advanced fine-grain verification of everything that was chosen for the export. You will be able to check the data you are sending twice so you would not send anything by mistake.

This feature is going to take place in a wide range of services offered by the Data Transfer Project. The project is an open-source creation of three giants: Microsoft, Facebook, and Google. Users of Facebook may add the photos to the image storage app of Google. Besides, there are Google Documents, Dropbox, WordPress, and Blogger. These new features are a part of a bigger plan that will allow everyone to transfer the data around the platforms. Instead of competing with each other, companies work together on ACCESS Act, to become closer to users. Facebook officials say that they rely on the government. Officials have to decide which company is responsible for the security of data and how it is better to protect it.

Google is actively working on the new tactics. At the same time, Facebook offers multiple tools for its users who want to store the data. Together they try to protect the data of their customers on a global level.
