Twitter Extends Your Options to Remove Followers

If everything goes smoothly in the tests that Twitter started, some followers will be removable from your account audience. All of us wanted to remove some followers from our profiles on Twitter without blocking them from time to time. And everyone can do this by simply blocking them at first, so they disappear from your group of followers, and unblocking them later. This is how you have them on your list, but they are not following everything you share. Still, there is no easy way to remove the person you don’t want on your followers list without being discovered.

Twitter knows about this problem and is currently fixing it. The option is already in the progress, according to the app researcher Alessandro Paluzzi. He shared several screenshots of the work. And it looks like the followers can now be removed without any notification about it. You may get rid of users you don’t want to read your tweets. However, they still can look at your tweets via the app and re-follow your account if they want to.

How Will It Work?

For now, it is hard to assume anything based on only two screens from Paluzzi’s account. Users may remove their followers from the major tweet feed and from user profiles directly. The option called “Remove this follower” will be available behind the menu with a three dots icon.

It may be extremely useful in numerous cases. For starters, it will remove the unwanted audiences from your list without them noticing this. They will not be blocked at the same time. You will not have to confront anyone. Moreover, they will not see the tweets you will share in the future, while still seeing your account and previous tweets. Hopefully, these users will not notice anything and you avoid the interaction. However, if they notice anything, you can blame Twitter on the error that occurred. Yet, if they notice, and you still want to cut them off, you will have to block them anyway.
