Third Blue Check in WhatsApp for Higher Security
A few weeks ago, a lot of users complained that WhatsApp lacks security measures. WhatsApp users share their personal information, including bank details and photos. Sometimes, it can be dangerous, especially in a group chat where you don’t know everyone. That’s why WhatsApp will implement a new feature with a third blue checkmark. It will show that somebody has taken a screenshot. After that, a message which tells who did this will appear. So, the user will have all the needed confirmation about the possible fraud.
Now, there are only two checkmarks. The first one tells that your message is on its way to the receiver. When the second one appears that means the person can read your message. They also change their color from gey to blue when the user has already read it. If you don’t want anyone to see that you have read their messages, you can turn off the color change. Overall, these features are standard for most chats on social media, but WhatsApp wants to add a third one for higher security.
Actually, this feature doesn’t really protect you from cyber threats. They can happen in any case. However, a third mark can help you to be more aware of what is going on in chat. Also, if swindler knows about this feature, they will less probably try to steal the information. It will be less possible too. If you understand that somebody you don’t trust has taken a photo, you can easily report WhatsApp support team about this.
Recently, WhatsApp has prepared a lot of new features for its users. One of them is a new group type named Community, where many people can communicate in different groups. It’s not known when the third blue checkmark will appear, but it should be quite soon. Do you think this feature will be efficient in security raising?
