Almost 2 Billion for TikTok

It is estimated that TikTok will reach 1.5 billion users in 2022. At the same time, the profits from the in-app spending will generate $3 billion.

It is reported that TikTok will hit a 1.5 billion mark in users sometime in 2022. For comparison, for other “billionaire” apps like Netflix and WhatsApp, it took a few more years to just break the 1 billion record.

Interestingly, TikTok keeps on rising even after it got banned in India — unquestionably one of its biggest markets.

The app’s popularity is also reported to be taking away a portion of demand from video-streaming platforms: YouTube to Hulu, HBO Now, Netflix, and others.

According to analytics, TikTok’s success is based on deep user engagement, a fun atmosphere, a music catalog, and a wide universal reach that is appealing to all demographics and ages.

According to Annie Report, “TikTok will remain a disruptive and genre-blending force in 2022 as they expand their investment in shopping.”

Simultaneously, users will spend more money inside the app. Mostly due to TikTok gradually turning into an easy-to-access marketplace where companies can create an impromptu advertisement on basically a $0 budget.

At the same time, the report predicts the emergence of more metaverses that will encapsulate entertainment, business, and even life itself on a deeper level.

One of the brightest examples is Roblox, which transforms from an innocent game for school kids into a more mature pastime, where players can create a Sims-like persona, interact socially, and so on.

The leitmotif of the report is obvious, though: our lives will become even more centered on our phones than before. Contactless payments, e-wallets, AR, GPS, and tons of high-quality free-to-plays are the main perpetrators to blame it all on.

It seems, at some point, every person on the planet will have TikTok. How often do you use the app? Let us know in the comments!
